Nokia has now released Nokia Software Updater. The software allows mobile users to update the firmware on their own. No need to go to a service center now.
Nokia Software Updater is a free application that enables people to update the device software on compatible Nokia devices, including some of the world’s best selling 3G devices such as the Nokia N70, Nokia N73 and Nokia E61.
The software supports only limited models now. There are two methods of update available according to the model of your phone :
- Update over-the-air - Requires mobile internet and also there are usage charges.
- Update via PC - Requires an internet connection and a Nokia USB cable.
Before Updating your phone
- Take a back-up of your phone contents.
- Connect your phone to a power source using a charger and/or that the phone battery is adequately charged before starting the update.
