Do you love the simple lovely old school look of Gnome icons ? If yes, then why not get the simple Gnome icons in Windows XP !!!
It will even give your Windows a fresh new look with brand new icons.
Download the Super Turbo Tango Patcher for Windows. This nifty little beast will patch your system files and replace the default Windows XP icons with the ones used in the Gnome environment in Linux.
The Tango Shell Patcher is a mostly self-explanatory graphical wizard designed to make integrating the Tango icon set into your system files as easy as installing any other piece of software. Likewise, it includes a reloader to re-Tangofy your system files if necessary, and an uninstaller to restore them to their original state. It is designed to work on all language versions and editions of Windows XP and Server 2003. 64-bit versions of Windows are NOT supported.
Super Turbo Tango Patcher also gives you four different themes to choose from :
- Tango (0.8.0)
- Tangerine (Ubuntu Feisty)
- Industrial (SLED 10.0)
- Gnome Icon Theme 2 (Gnome 2.18.0)
You can some screenshots of my system after running Super Turbo Tango Patcher with the Tango theme in this post itself.
The best part is that Super Turbo Tango Patcher does not take up any additional resources on your system.
So your Windows XP will not slow down. Apart from the icons patching, the Super Turbo Tango Patcher also includes a somewhat Tango-fied login screen & boot screen.
So do you like the icons ? Go on, try the Super Turbo Tango Patcher and tell me your experience with it.

Thanks for the info… Downloading it
Hmm… looks cool. Will try it out in my laptop (not the current one, it’s my company’s). I love pimping XP so that others ask me if this is really XP running in your lappy.
I too love pimping XP …
The Tango Patcher goes great with the Klarheit VS you are using.
Yep! I love it.
Cool.
Gnome had nice icons… Is there a patch for VISTA as well?
Hi Benedict.
As far as I know there is no such patch yet for Vista.
Switch to XP, Benedict.
