Get Gnome icons in Windows with Super Turbo Tango Patcher

Download the Super Turbo Tango Patcher for Windows. This nifty little beast will patch your system files and replace the default Windows XP icons with the ones used in the Gnome environment in Linux.

The Tango Shell Patcher is a mostly self-explanatory graphical wizard designed to make integrating the Tango icon set into your system files as easy as installing any other piece of software. Likewise, it includes a reloader to re-Tangofy your system files if necessary, and an uninstaller to restore them to their original state. It is designed to work on all language versions and editions of Windows XP and Server 2003. 64-bit versions of Windows are NOT supported.

  1. Tango (0.8.0)
  2. Tangerine (Ubuntu Feisty)
  3. Industrial (SLED 10.0)
  4. Gnome Icon Theme 2 (Gnome 2.18.0)

Hmm… looks cool. Will try it out in my laptop (not the current one, it’s my company’s). I love pimping XP so that others ask me if this is really XP running in your lappy. :D

If you dont want to patch your system files you should give IconPackager from stardock (www.stardock.com) a try.
Tango Icons for IconPackager are available here and here.

i use puppy linux with gnome and i use human theme,vista icons,and bliss wallpaper.Looks great i recommend.In my xp i used this patch 2 months ago.
