Thoughts.com is a new entrant in the much crowded blogosphere with every other site giving the option to open a free new Blog at http://www.thoughts.com/ for you. So what sets Thoughts.com different in this crowd ?
First thing I noticed about this site, is that they have got a nice domain name. The domain name clearly reflects what the site is about. And this adds great value to the service they are providing. Apart from opening a new blog you can upload photos, videos, do podcasting and add friends. Plus unlimited bandwidth too…
After spending some time on Thoughts.com it looks to be a blogging site with a pinch of social networking thrown in to make blogging look more exciting. There is a rating system which lets other people rate the posts you write. You need not spend time promoting your post, Thoughts.com will do that for you.
Now the time for downsides. One big downside : Thoughts.com does not have enough options for customizing your blog. There are a few themes but not much choices are there if you want your blog to look different.Â
If you’re looking for the pure part of blogging, and a small audience from the beginning to read what you have to say, then Thoughts.com might just be your thing. Try out Thoughts .

I hope this won’t be another me-too service or the next MySpace - they’re all so cheesy.
Social Networking doesn’t work like these people think. You give and you get. Great Digg or Stumble Upon profiles aren’t created overnight. So don’t look for Social Network sites success to jump in on this service.
I have had enough of these “blogs” (like my blogspot) I need my own private space
Suggestions are most welcome. It will greatly benefit me.
@ Sumesh - Only time will tell that.
@ Ashwin - Who is going to Thoughts ? I love Wordpress.
@ Falkor - Go for a self hosted Wordpress blog man. Forget Blogspot.
Manas,
I want to try something like this, dont mind investing some bucks on that but have no clue on how to do it
1. Can I transfer all the data in the present blog to new one? how can I do that?
2. If I am starting off, why do I need Wordpress.
It would be great if you could clarify these.
If you are going for Wordpress, you can indeed import all your old posts and comments to your new blog. Wordpress has an import function for that.
I assume you are using Blogger for sometime now. But still if you are not sure if you want Wordpress, open a free blog at Wordpress.com to see how Wordpress is. I am sure you will like it.
I am using this since 3-4 yrs now. Wondering how to transfer the data and maintain continuity.
No buddy, I don’t want wordpress or anything, I want my own place on net.
