Envious of your friend using cool mouse gestures in Opera ? No problem. With the power of add-ons in Mozilla Firefox you can add almost any feature to Firefox.
Fire Gestures is one such add-on which adds mouse gestures to Mozilla Firefox.
A simple mouse movement opens a new tab, another one closes tab and more …. You have to use it to get addicted to it.

Microsoft has released the Beta 1 of Internet Explorer 8 and put up a dedicated page for Internet Explorer 8 Beta.

The IE 8 Beta 1 page lists out the new features which will be available in Internet Explorer 8 along with download links to Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1.
The new features in Internet Explorer 8 are :
- Activities
- WebSlices
- Favorites Bar
- Automatic Crash Recovery
- Improved Phishing Filter
That’s it. No more new features. Sadly, I don’t find any feature above exciting enough for me to be waiting for Internet Explorer 8. Neither do I find any new UI for Internet Explorer 8 from the screenhots on the page.
Hopefully MS will add more features on the way and also give a new UI to Internet Explorer 8. If not Mozilla Firefox 3Â will be THE browser for me. Anywayz it is even now.

Update : Mozilla Links has put up a review of Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1 and compared it to the Firefox 3 Beta which is under development now. A post worth reading….

Just noticed this. The latest Firefox 3 Beta ( at present Beta 3 RC ) is now available in the Ubuntu Gutsy Repositories. The Ubuntu guys had not updated the Firefox 3 Alpha in the repositories for a long time, but now it is done.
To install the latest Firefox 3 Beta in Ubuntu Gutsy
- Go to System —> Administration —> Software Sources
- Then go to Updates tab, and tick “Unsupported Updates” checkbox.
- Click Close. Ubuntu will ask you to reload the software list. Click Reload.
- Then open a Terminal window and type apt-get install firefox-3.0
After installing, goto Applications —> Internet —> Firefox 3 Web Browser.
The Firefox 3 Beta will not replace your existing stable install of Firefox 2. So don’t worry.
All your Firefox 2 settings and add-ons will remain intact.
